Accelerated English and Math Programs

In order to take five (5) math courses in high school for credit, a student must start in the eight grade with Algebra I. This will allow the student to take calculus during the senior year, which would enhance simultaneous studies in physics. Only students who feel confident in starting early and have maintained good grades, should accelerate their program.

Below is an outline of these programs:

Accelerated

Standard

8th Grade     Algebra I Pre-Algebra
9th Grade     Geometry Algebra I
10th Grade    Algebra II Geometry
11th Grade    Pre-Calculus Algebra II
12th Grade    A.P. Calculus Business/Adv. Alg. & Trig.

The accelerated English program runs parallel with the regular classes but carries a more demanding work load and broader scope. Students wishing to enroll in Advanced Composition and Literature their senior year should opt for the accelerated program as preparation. See the Guidance Director for details.
